CPL 160.55 covers violations and traffic infractions. After ten years with no new criminal history, you can file to have these sealed. CPL 160.58 lets people seal up to two convictions if they meet strict rules. Only one conviction can be a felony. The wait is ten years from sentencing or release. Sex offenses, violent felonies, and Class A felonies are not eligible.

Under CPL 160.59, the Clean Slate law, some convictions seal automatically. Three years for misdemeanors. Eight years for felonies.
